Dr. Patricia Weston-Bogart
Veterinarian
Patricia M. Weston-Bogart, D.V.M., P.A., graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology. She graduated with a Doctorate from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1989. Dr. Weston-Bogart has lived in Pasco County since 1989. She was born in Sarasota, Florida, but lived in many states and several other countries while growing up. Preceptor and internships allowed her to experience many diseases and conditions found elsewhere that could affect us here in Florida. She is a state-accredited veterinarian and the owner of Animals Best Choice Veterinary Hospital (a nationally accredited AAHA practice), which also provides a complete medical care mobile house call service. In the past, she has treated livestock, horses, exotics, wildlife, avian, pocket pets, and companion animals (dogs and cats). Currently, she treats dogs, cats, pocket pets (hamsters, guinea pigs, rabbits, etc.) and birds. Dr. Weston-Bogart performs advanced and routine surgical procedures, laser surgery, ultrasound, endoscopy, radiography, class IV therapy laser, and more.
Dr. Weston-Bogart is a pet parent to three dogs, three cats, and four chickens. She enjoys spending time in the woods, enjoying Florida’s natural landscape, and drawing. She has also been an active triathlete and martial artist for many years.
Dr. Melissa Taylor
Veterinarian
Dr. Taylor graduated from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine and has been a small animal practitioner since then. As the wife of a retired Army soldier, she has had the opportunity to move many times and practice in many places: Atlanta, GA; Kaiserslautern, Germany; Monongahela, PA; Hanover, PA; and Richmond, VA. Dr. Taylor has been employed by Animals Best Choice Veterinary Hospital since 2009. Her family includes her husband, three children, two dogs, six cats, and one lizard. She enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and gardening.
Dr. John Robert Blanchard
Veterinarian
Dr. Robert Blanchard has been practicing veterinary medicine since 1994. He graduated with a Masters degree in Pharmacokinetics and a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Atlantic Veterinary College, Prince Edward Island, Canada. He began practicing medicine in Florida after completing his Florida licensing exam in 1995. Eventually, he and his wife Jackie decided to settle in Palm Harbor along with their lap dogs Sophie and Martini. His special interests include chronic unresolved skin issues, chronic unresolved ear issues, and long-term arthritis management for elderly patients.
Dr. Blanchard has been an avid golfer for over 40 years and carries a 3 handicap. He and his wife also enjoy heading to the local beaches on the weekends.
As a new addition to the staff at Animals Best Choice Veterinary Hospital, he looks forward to meeting all the Best Choice families.
